From Story Ballets to Intensives and More!

Our variety of summer programs caters to dancers of all backgrounds, whether they’re just beginning or have been dancing for years.

Younger dancers, ages 5-8, can explore the enchanting world of narrative ballet in our Exploring Story Ballet Camp, where classic tales come to life through dance. For those aiming to compete, our Competition Prep Workshop provides focused training to prepare for events like YAGP/CDC, offering a platform for aspiring ballet competitors.

Our Contemporary/Neoclassical Ballet Workshop is ideal for dancers seeking to expand their repertoire beyond classical ballet, blending traditional techniques with modern styles. The Beginner Ballet Intensive is a great starting point for 8-11-year-olds to build a strong foundation in ballet basics.

Older students, between the ages of 10 and 17, can deepen their skills in our 4 or 5-week Ballet Intensive program, designed to challenge and refine their technique. Additionally, we have Summer Ballet Classes for 7-10-year-olds and Summer Pre-Ballet Classes for 5-7-year-olds, perfect for keeping up with ballet during the summer break.

We also offer Art Classes where creativity extends beyond dance, allowing students to explore various art forms and mediums.

EXPLORING STORY BALLET CAMP (ages 5-8)

A fun-filled Story Ballet camp for boys and girls ages 5-8, with or without dance experience. Students will enjoy this delightful course that introduces ballet, international dance, and creative movement through the use of music, props, and fun. Develop their attention spans and learn to work in a group while developing motor skills. The dancers achieve better coordination and gain dance fundamentals in a class that emphasizes the fun and excitement of discovering the world through movement. Each day will have various projects, such as painting scenery, making crafts, introduction to music, and acting exercises. It will be a wonderful week that will capture the creative spirit of each young dancer!

Dress code for this class is any colored ballet leotard and tights for girls and shorts and t-shirt for boys.

WORKSHOPS

COMPETITION PREP WORKSHOP (YAGP/CDC Repertoire)

Ages 9 and Up (Ayana Ballet JB 3 and Up qualified). Suitable for experienced competitors and those considering to compete. You learn a classical variation to be adjudicated on the final day of the program. Each dancer will be given an opportunity to perform in a competition-like environment without score. Professional feedback on your technique and artistry. This does not mean that you will be part of the Ayana Performance Team next school year, however, it is a good way to prepare yourself and try for the Performance Team for the next competition season. Dress code for this session is black leotard and pink/flesh colored tights for girls and gray/white dance top and black tights for boys. Enroll today – space is strictly limited to ensure individual attention.

CONTEMPORARY/NEOCLASSICAL BALLET WORKSHOP

Ages 10 and Up (Ayana Ballet JB-3/4 and Up qualified). Learn more this summer, immerse in contemporary and neoclassical ballet technique. Study these expressive styles with Vaganova trained ballet teachers. This is a great program for a serious dancer who trains at least 3-4 days a week and at least 2 years on pointe training as we will learn neoclassical on pointe. JB 3/4 students of Ayana Ballet can be on flats (ages 8+). Sign up today as space is limited.

INTENSIVES

BEGINNER BALLET INTENSIVE (ages 8-11)

The Beginner Ballet Intensive is perfect for dancers who have completed Ballet 1 or Ballet 2 and are looking for a challenging and immersive camp experience. At Ayana Ballet, we believe in helping students become more disciplined and committed dancers. Through a combination of floor barre exercises, barre work, center work, and allegro work, students will enhance their technique and strength. Additionally, they will refine their dance fluency by practicing classical ballet variations and character dance. Dress code for this session is black leotard and pink/flesh colored tights for girls and gray/white dance top and black tights for boys. Enroll today – space is strictly limited to ensure individual attention.

BALLET INTENSIVE 4 or 6 WEEKS (AGES 9-17) (daily drop-ins are available for older students)

Immerse yourself in a student-centered environment that offers top-notch ballet training for dedicated dancers. Our experienced instructors, who specialize in the Vaganova Method, will guide you through the intricacies of ballet technique, including pointe work, partnering, contemporary dance, and conditioning exercises tailored to your level. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to learn captivating pieces from the classical repertoire and showcase your talent in a spectacular theater performance, for your loved ones to enjoy! To participate in the theater performance, enrollment in our 4-week intensive program is mandatory.

Sessions: July 1 – Agust 11, 2024 (no class on July 4th)

**Our program is perfect for new students in Levels 3/4 and above, as well as ballet enthusiasts aged 10 and above. If you’re aged 11-13, make sure you’re dancing at least 3 days a week to join us. For those aged 14 and older, we recommend dancing 4-5 days a week and having at least 2 years of experience on pointe to be placed in a class with peers. Get ready to dance your way through the summer with our Summer Ballet Classes! Designed for dancers who want to stay in shape and improve their technique, these classes offer the perfect opportunity to keep up with ballet training while also exploring other exciting disciplines like character dance, acting, and variations. Come and join us to make the most of your summer break by refining your skills and having an amazing time!

Schedule: Mondays and Wednesday, 4:30pm–7:00pm

SUMMER PRE-BALLET CLASS (AGES 5-7)

Discover the world of ballet with our Summer Pre-Ballet Classes! These classes provide the perfect foundation for learning ballet skills, including preparatory ballet, floor barre, center work, and creative movement. Through the use of music, props, and a fun atmosphere, students will not only improve their attention spans and memories but also develop their motor skills while enjoying the experience of dancing in a group. Join us and embark on a journey of grace and elegance!

ART CLASSES

Each class is a standard 2 hour session. Student can have their class anytime during art teacher’s hours.
Price includes all art materials unless specified. Oil painting supplies are included except for the canvas, which can be purchased at the studio.
