2024 Summer Programs

INTENSIVES

JUNIOR BALLET INTENSIVE, Level 2 (Ages 12-16 advanced)

Pre-requisite: Junior Ballet 4 at Ayana Ballet School or by audition. Requirements: to participate in this program, students ages 11-16 and up should be dancing at least 3-5 days a week with at least 1-2 years on pointe to be placed in a class level with their peers.

Dancers will improve their technique and strength through barre exercises, barre, center, allegro, and pointe work. They will also improve their dance fluency through classical variations, character dance, contemporary dance, and new choreography. A ballet suite will be performed at the end of the intensive.

JULY 10–AUGUST 4, 9:30 am-1:30 pm

9:30-11:30 Ballet Technique with Pointe (or pre-pointe)
11:30-11:45 Break
11:45-1:30 Supplemental Class (Contemporary, Character, Variations, Floor Barre, Stretch/Strengthen, etc. depending on the teacher)

The dress code for this session is a black leotard and pink tights for girls and gray/white dance top and black tights for boys.

JUNIOR BALLET INTENSIVE, Level 1 (Ages 8-11 intermediate)

Pre-requisite: Junior Ballet 2/3 at Ayana Ballet School or by audition. Requirements for new students: students ages 8-11 should be dancing at least 2 days a week for the last 2 years.

Dancers will improve their technique and strength through floor barre exercises, barre, center, and allegro work. They will also improve their dance fluency through classical variations, character dance, contemporary dance, and new choreography.

JULY 10–JULY 28, 1:30 pm-5:30 pm

BEGINNER BALLET INTENSIVE (ages 8-11)

The Beginner Ballet Intensive is designed for novice-level dancers (completed Ballet 1 or Ballet 2) who seek a more rigorous and intensive camp experience. Ayana Ballet (JB 1 is good if turned 8 by June 2023).

This program aims to assist students in becoming more focused and dedicated dancers. Students will improve their technique and strength though floor barre exercises, barre, center and allegro work. Students will also improve their dance fluency through classical ballet variations, character dance. 

Dress code for this session is black leotard and pink/flesh colored tights for girls and gray/white dance top and black tights for boys.

2 Week Session: JUNE 19 – JUNE 30

Monday – Friday   3:00pm-6:00pm (sign up for full program or daily drop off)

$1100 for the full session. $140 per day.

COMPETITION PREP WORKSHOP (YAGP/CDC Repertoire), (ages 9 & up)

Ages 9 and Up (Ayana Ballet School JB 3 and Up qualified). Suitable for experienced competitors and those considering competing. You learn a classical variation to be adjudicated on the final day of the program. Each dancer will be given an opportunity to perform in a competition-like environment without a score. Professional feedback on your technique and artistry. This does not mean that you will be part of the Ayana Performance Team next school year, however, it is a good way to prepare yourself and try for the Performance Team for the next competition season. 

JUNE 5 – JUNE 9, 2023

9:00am – 12:00pm

Tuition: $750

Dress code for this session is black leotard and pink/flesh colored tights for girls and gray/white dance top and black tights for boys.

ACRO/CONTEMPORARY/NEOCLASSICAL WORKSHOP, (ages 11 & Up)

Ages 11 and Up (Ayana Ballet School JB-3 and Up qualified). Learn more this summer, and immerse in contemporary and neoclassical ballet techniques. Study these expressive styles with Vaganova-trained ballet teachers. This is a great program for a serious dancer who trains at least 3-4 days a week and at least 2 years on pointe training as we will learn neoclassical on pointe. JB3 students of Ayana Ballet School can be on flats (ages 9+).

JUNE 12 – JUNE 16, 2023

CLASSES

SUMMER DANCE (Ages 6-7)

Students will ballet, tumbling, and creative movement through the use of music, props, and fun. Dancers increase their attention spans, and memories and learn to work in a group while developing motor skills.

JUNE 17-JULY 29: Saturdays, 9:00-10:00 am (5-7 yrs)

$200 || 7 classes, $35 drop-in

SUMMER BALLET (Ages 7-10) 

Students are given the opportunity to keep up their ballet technique during the summer as well as explore additional ballet-related disciplines such as character dance, acting & variations during specialty classes.

JULY 3-JULY 26: Mondays & Wednesdays
Technique, 4:00-5:30 pm || Specialty Focus, 5:30 pm-7:00 pm

$275 for 7 1.5-hour classes, $40 drop-in || $475 for 7 3-hour classes, $75 drop-in
